The crystal structure of ferrocene

Detailed X-ray analysis of crystals of ferrocene by Dunitz, Orgel & Rich confirms that the molecule has a 'sandwich' structure with approximate D_5d symmetry, and Fe-C, 2.045±0.01 Å; C-C, 1.403±0.02 Å.
