Bis([eta]⁵-methylcyclopentadienyl)(piperidine-N)(piperidinido-N)ytterbium

Reaction of (MeC₅H₄)₂YbCl with LiNC₅H₁₀ in toluene affords the neutral title complex, (MeC₅H₄)₂Yb(NC₅H₁₀)(HNC₅H₁₀). The Yb atom is coordinated by two methylcyclopentadienyl rings and two piperidine/piperidinide N atoms to form a distorted tetrahedral geometry.
