metal-organic compounds
Di-2-pyridyl ketone reacts with diaquatetrakis(betaine)dicopper tetraperchlorate in water to form centrosymmetric bis(di-2-pyridylmethanediol)copper(II) diperchlorate, [Cu(C11H10N2O2)2](ClO4)2, whose metal atom is N,O,N'-chelated by the two di-2-pyridylmethanediol ligands in an elongated octahedral CuN4O2 geometry. The hydroxyl groups are hydrogen bonded to the perchlorate anion.
