metal-organic compounds
The title compound, [Cu(NO3)(C3H5O2)(C10H9N3)] contains infinite chains of a six-coordinate CuN2O2O'2 chromophore. The molecular chromophore has a distorted octahedral structure, with symmetrically bonding di-2-pyridylamine (dpyam) and bidentate propionate groups defining an equatorial O2N2 plane and axial O atoms of bridging 'semi-coordinate' nitrate groups completing the sixfold coordination.
