1-Phenyl-2-(propylamino)pentane, a Memory Enhancer

The absolute configuration of [(R)-1-phenyl-2-pentyl]propylammonium chloride, C₁₄H₂₄N⁺.Cl^-, has been determined. The compound is a memory enhancer. Since the pharmacological effect of the related compound selegiline is highly dependent upon its configuration, the title compound may be expected to behave in a similar manner.
