The title compound {alternative name for this Schiff base: 4,4′-dibromo-2,2′-[propanediylbis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol; C₁₇H₁₆Br₂N₂O₂} displays two strong intramolecular N...H—O hydrogen bonds within each salicylideneimine unit. The molecule is not planar and the two aromatic rings are inclined at an angle of 69.8 (1)°.
