A Dihydrooxazinone

(3RS,6SR,1′RS)-6-tert-Butyl-3,6-dihydro-5-methoxy-3-methyl-3-(3- oxocyclohexyl)-2H-1,4-oxazin-2-one, C₁₆H₂₅NO₄, is an intermediate in the stereoselective synthesis of α-methylated amino acids. Its structure agrees well with those of other dihydrooxazinones. The heterocycle is almost planar while the side chains exhibit the expected staggered conformations.
