Dibromo(diethyl ether-O)(diisopropylamine-N)magnesium(II)

The coordination geometry at the Mg atom in the title complex, [MgBr₂{(C₃H₇)₂NH}{(C₂H₅)₂O}], is shown to be distorted tetrahedral. The presence of a secondary amine ligand is unusual in its derivation from an amide. It is also unusual to find both an ether and a simple amine solvating the same magnesium centre [Mg1-N1 2.158 (3) and Mg1-O1 2.041 (3) Å].
