Cs₂V₃(As_0,635V_0,365)₄O₁₇

The three-dimensionnal network structure of the title compound (arsenic caesium vanadium oxide) comprises VO₅ pyramids and (As,V)₂O₇ groups sharing corners to form puckered layers. The layers are linked to each other by chains of VO₆ octahedra. The framework exhibits large tunnels, parallel to the b axis interconnected with other smaller tunnels, parallel to the c axis. The Cs⁺ ions are located at the intersections of these tunnels. Cs₂V₃(As_0.635V_0.365)₄O₁₇ is isostructural with Cs₂V₃P₄O₁₇ [Lii, Wang & Wang (1989). J. Solid State Chem. 80, 127-132].
