The crystal structure of the title compound, C₆H₁₈N₂²⁺.H₂P₂O₇^2-.2H₂O, can be described as a typical thick-layered organization of molecules consisting of all the components of the structure and centered in the (101) planes. Strong hydrogen bonds connect molecules within the layers.
