A Rigid Bis-Bidentate Bridging Ligand: 1,4-Bis(2,2'-bipyrid-4-yl)benzene

The title compound, C₂₆H₁₈N₄, possesses crystallographically imposed centrosymmetry. The bipyridyl moieties adopt an anti conformation and have a torsion angle of 24.3 (1)° with respect to the attached benzene ring.
