The title compound, C17H11N5O.H2O, forms two-dimensional layers parallel to the (10) plane. The dihedral angle between the planes of the diazafluorene moiety and the pyridine ring is 27.74 (4)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by O—HN, N—HO, C—HO and C—HN hydrogen bonds.
