The title compound, [Fe(C5H5)2(C16H20O)], formed by reduction of propionoylferrocene and subsequent dehydration, crystallizes as a racemic mixture of RR and SS forms. In the central C-O-C fragment, the angle at the O atom is 115.7 (2)°.
