(1α,3α,5α)-1,3,5-Trimethyl-1,3,5-cyclohexanetricarboxylic Acid Acetonitrile Solvate

In the title compound, C₁₂H₁₈O₆.CH₃CN, both components have crystallographically imposed C₃ symmetry. The hydrogen bonds between the three carboxylic acid groups of (1α,3α,5α)-1,3,5-trimethyl-1,3,5-cyclohexanetricarboxylic acid (Kemp's triacid) and three other triacid moieties make a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network producing large intermolecular cavities.
