The Sr2Te3O8, prepared from a 2:3 mixture of SrCO3 and TeO2 heated to 1048 K, is orthorhombic with cell dimensions a = 4.022, b = 5.897, c = 19.370(7) Å, V = 459.4 Å3, Z = 2, Dm = 4.970, Dx = 4.958 g cm−3; Mo radiation (λ = 0.71069 Å). Powder data are given. The JCPDS Diffraction File No. for Sr2Te3O8 is 37–1498.
