A high-energy-resolution X-ray spectrometer has been commissioned at the SXFEL Facility, delivering single-shot resolving power beyond 20000 to provide support for fine-tuning and optimization of the machine, during scientific research. The fine structure of the individual spiky peak in the SASE spectrum is clearly resolved to characterize the pulse length of FEL radiation.

With implementation of the cross-correlation technique at the short-pulse Spallation Neutron Source (SNS), Oak Ridge, Tennessee, USA, CORELLI obtains both the total scattering and the elastic-only scattering simultaneously from a single measurement with an unprecedented data collection rate.

The first use of the ARCS chopper spectrometer at the Spallation Neutron Source at Oak Ridge National Laboratory for powder-diffraction-based atomic pair distribution function analysis is reported. Its performance is benchmarked against the NPDF diffractometer at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Perdeuteration and in vitro refolding of hen egg-white lysozyme impact protein thermal stability and activity. Deuteration appears to primarily affect enzymatic function through changes in protein dynamics, while refolding contributes to a small decrease in protein thermal stability.
