The International Tables Symmetry Database (https://symmdb.iucr.org/), part of International Tables for Crystallography, is a collection of individual databases of crystallographic space-group and point-group information. Programs are provided to access and interactively visualize the data, and also allow new data to be calculated `on the fly', facilitating the in-depth study of group–subgroup relations, domain structures and twinning, families of related crystal structures and phase transitions, and the prediction of new crystal structures.

The magnetic point groups are classified into 32 categories which lead to a total of 64 unique magnetic modes with the same set of directions of M. This classification gives hints on the neutron powder diffraction analysis of collinear magnetic ordering.

A DigitalMicrograph script named InsteaDMatic has been developed for automated continuous rotation electron diffraction (cRED) data acquisition. InsteaDMatic coordinates functions of the transmission electron microscope goniometer and camera in order to tune up diffraction-frame recording simultaneously with crystal rotation. Exploiting fast and automated data collection, the influence of the electron dose rate on the quality of cRED data was studied, and structural models obtained for two different parallel-beam illumination modes (aperture selection and nanoprobe) were compared.

AFLOW-SYM is a comprehensive crystal-symmetry analysis suite catering to automated computational workflows and presenting a wealth of symmetry descriptions. This platform employs robust mapping techniques, validates calculated symmetry elements and resolves self-consistent tolerances for each system to yield results more commensurate with experiments compared with other common symmetry packages.
