In the title compound, [ZnCl₂(C₁₀H₂₂N₂)], the Zn^II ion coordinates to the N atoms of tetra­methyl­cyclo­hexane-1,2-diamine and to two chloride ions in an approximately tetra­hedral arrangement. The N—Zn—N and Cl—Zn—Cl planes are approximately orthogonal, with a dihedral angle of 89.7 (2)° between them. Four C atoms of the cyclohexane ring, together with their attached H atoms, are disordered equally over two sites.
