In the mol­ecule of the title compound, C₁₅H₁₄O₂, the dihedral angle between the benzene and phenyl rings is 61.27 (8)°. In the crystal, O—H...O and weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds link the mol­ecules into chains extending along the c-axis direction.
