Crystallization and preliminary X-ray crystallographic studies on the class II cholesterol oxidase from Burkholderia cepacia containing bound flavin

Crystals of B. cepacia cholesterol oxidase, a 3β-hydroxysteroid oxidase containing covalently bound FAD, were obtained by the hanging-drop method using polyethylene glycol as a precipitant. The crystals diffract to beyond 2.0 Å and belong to space group P3₁21, with approximate unit-cell parameters a = b = 119.6, c = 101.1 Å and one subunit in the asymmetric unit.
