metal-organic compounds
In the title polymeric complex, [Cd(C4H2O4)(C12H8N2)(H2O)2]n, the CdII ions are bridged by fumarate dianions to form zigzag complex chains. π–π stacking is observed between the parallel phenanthroline ligands of neighboring complex chains. The Cd ion is located on a twofold axis and has a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, while the fumarate dianion lies on an inversion center.
metal-organic compounds
The title compound, [Cu(C6H12NO5)2], was prepared from copper(II) acetate and N-[2-hydroxy-1,1-bis(hydroxymethyl)ethyl]glycine. The copper ion is coordinated by two N and four O atoms from two N-[2-hydroxy-1,1-bis(hydroxymethyl)ethyl]glycine ligands, forming a distorted octahedral geometry. Extensive intermolecular hydrogen bonding is observed in the crystal structure.
