In the polymeric title complex, {[Cu(C8H5NO4S)(H2O)]·3H2O}n, the CuII cation is coordinated by one water molecule and four carboxylate O atoms from four 2-[(carboxymethyl)sulfanyl]nicotinate anions in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The 2-[(carboxymethyl)sulfanyl]nicotinate anion bridges four CuII cations, forming a two-dimensional polymeric complex parallel to the bc plane. In the crystal, O—HO, O—HN and O—HS hydrogen bonds link the complex molecules and lattice water molecules into a three-dimensional supramolecular architecture.
