Poly[[di­aqua­(μ₄-benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra­carboxyl­ato)tetrakis­(1H-imidazole-κN³)dicopper(II)] N,N-di­methyl­formamide monosolvate]

The asymmetric unit of the polymeric title compound, {[Cu₂(C₁₀H₂O₈)(C₃H₄N₂)₄(H₂O)₂]·C₃H₇NO}_n, contains two independent Cu^II ions, each coordinated by one water mol­ecule, two imidazole N atoms and two carboxyl­ate O atoms from benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra­carboxyl­ate anions in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra­carboxyl­ate anion bridges four Cu^II ions, forming a polymeric sheet parallel to (010). In the crystal, extensive N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds link the polymeric sheets and di­methyl­formamide solvent mol­ecules into a three-dimensional supra­molecular structure.
