The title compound, C₂₀H₂₂O₇, was prepared by reaction of 4-hydr­oxy-3-methoxy­benzaldehyde and 1-chloro-2-(2-chloro­ethoxy)ethane. Inter­molecular C—H...O hydrogen-bonding contributes to the stability of the structure in the solid state.

(E)-N′-(4-Benz­yloxy-3-methoxy­benzyl­idene)benzohydrazide

The title compound, C₂₂H₂₀N₂O₃, was prepared by the reaction of 4-benz­yloxy-3-methoxy­benzaldehyde and benzohydrazide. The central vanillin system makes dihedral angles of 18.2 (1) and 14.3 (1)° with the planes of the benzohydrazide and benzyl groups, respectively. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter­molecular N—H...O hydrogen bonding.
