N′-(4-Hydroxy­benzyl­idene)isonicotinohydrazide

The title compound, C₁₃H₁₁N₃O₂, was prepared by the reaction of pyridine-4-carboxylic acid hydrazide and p-hydroxy­benzaldehyde in ethanol. In the crystal structure, all non-H atoms are coplanar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.096 Å. N—H...N, O—H...N and O—H...O inter­molecular hydrogen bonds stabilize the structure.

(E)-3-Methoxy­acetophenone 2,4,6-trinitro­phenyl­hydrazone

Crystals of the title compound, C₁₅H₁₃N₅O₇, were obtained by a condensation reaction of 3-methoxy­acetophenone and 2,4,6-trinitro­phenyl­hydrazine. The mol­ecule adopts an E configuration about the C8=N5 bond. π-π stacking is observed between the methoxy­phen­yl and trinitro­phen­yl rings of neighbouring mol­ecules.
