In the title compound, C₁₇H₁₄N₂O₂·0.5H₂O, all bond lengths and angles are within normal ranges. The dihedral angle formed by the phen­yl ring with the quinoline moiety is 27.30 (9)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter­molecular N—H...O, C—H...O and O—H...N hydrogen bonds involv­ing the solvent water mol­ecule.
