The title compound, C₁₁H₁₇NO₂, was obtained by hydrogeno­lysis of (3S,4S)-4-(dibenzyl­amino)-5-phenyl­pentane-1,3-diol. In the crystal structure, inter­molecular O—H...O, O—H...N and N—H...O hydrogen bonds link the mol­ecules into a sheet parallel to the ab plane.
