The title compound, C33H29N, was obtained by the reaction of 9-chloro­methyl­anthracene and n-propyl­amine. Two anthra­cenyl­methyl units are linked to the N atom of n-propyl­amine and the dihedral angle between the two anthracene systems is 64.3 (2)°.

In the title anthra­quinone derivative, C26H19O2P, the dihedral angle of the two benzene rings is 30.2 (1)°. The di­phenyl­phosphinoyl unit lies out of the plane of the tricyclic core.
