Expression, purification, crystallization and X-ray crystallographic studies of different redox states of the active site of thioredoxin 1 from the whiteleg shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei

Analysis of the different redox states of the catalytic cysteines in four crystallographic structures of thioredoxin 1 from the Pacific whiteleg shrimp L. vannamei highlights their reactivity and corroborates the existence of a structural dimer mediated by an interface of 12 residues which includes a disulfide bridge between the Cys73 residues of each monomer.

Conformational stability and crystal packing: polymorphism in Neurospora crassa CAT-3

Comparisons between polymorphic structures in space groups P1, P2₁2₁2₁ and P4₃2₁2 highlight the conformational stability of tetrameric CAT-3 and reveal a distortion in the tetrameric structure that has not previously been described.
