In the mol­ecule of the title compound {systematic name: ethyl 4-[(4-methyl­phen­yl)sulfonyl­amino]benzoate}, C₁₆H₁₇NO₄S, the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 93.4 (1)°. The C—N—S—C torsion angle in the central part of the mol­ecule is 71.09 (16)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter­molecular N—H...O inter­actions.
