In the crystal structure of the title compound, C₁₄H₂₆NO₈⁺·Cl^-·2H₂O, both the cation and anion lie on special positions of site symmetry 2. The cation and anion, along with the water mol­ecules of crystallization, are linked into a three-dimensional network by extensive hydrogen bonds.
