catena-Poly[[dinitratocadmium(II)]bis[[mu]-bis(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)methane-[kappa]²N³:N^3']]

The title compound, [Cd(NO₃)₂(C₉H₁₂N₄)₂]_n, has a one-dimensional double-bridged chain polymer structure with a 16-membered macrometallacyclic tetra­gonal structural motif. The Cd^II ion occupies a crystallographic inversion centre and is coordinated by four equatorial N atoms from four distinct bis­(2-methyl­imidazol-1-yl)methane ligands and two apical nitrate O atoms to form a slightly distorted octa­hedral coordination geometry.
