In the title compound, C₁₂H₈ClN₃O₂, the dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the pyridine and benzene rings is 20.8 (1)°. In the crystal structure, mol­ecules pack nearly parallel along the a axis, with some π stacking interactions.
