cis-Bis(acetonitrile-κN)bis­(2,2′-bipyridine-κ²N,N′)ruthenium(II) tetra­fluoridoborate

In the cation of the title compound, [Ru(CH₃CN)₂(C₁₀H₈N₂)₂](BF₄)₂, the Ru^II atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octa­hedral geometry by the N atoms of the two 2,2′-bipyridine (bpy) ligands and two cis-arranged acetonitrile mol­ecules. The dihedral angles formed by the pyridine rings of the bpy ligands are 8.86 (12) and 10.12 (14)°. In the crystal, the cations and anions are linked by C—H...F hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.
