The title compound, C19H19NO10, was obtained from the reaction of α-D-1-bromo-2,3,4-tri-O-acetylxylose with N-hydroxyphthalimide in the presence of potassium carbonate. The asymmetric unit contains two independent molecules, in which the O—CH—O—N torsion angles are 73.0 (4) and 65.0 (4)°. The hexapyranosyl rings adopt chair conformations and the substituent groups are in equatorial positions. In the crystal, molecules are linked by nonclassical C—HO hydrogen bonds.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C6H7ClN)4[SnCl6]Cl2, comprises two 4-chloroanilinium cations, half of an [SnCl6]2− anion and a Cl− anion. The SnIV atom, located on a special position on a twofold rotation axis, exhibits an octahedral environment. In the crystal, molecules are linked by N—HCl hydrogen bonds between the 4-chloroanilinium cations, [SnCl6]2− anions and Cl− anions.

All non-H atoms of the title compound, C8H4Cl2N4, are essentially coplanar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.011 Å. In the crystal, weak C—HN hydrogen bonds link the molecules into infinite sheets parallel to the bc plane.

In the title compound, [Zn2(C8H4O6)(C12H8N2)2(H2O)6](C8H4O6), the complete ions of both the binuclear dication and the dianion are generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. The Zn atom is bonded to an N,N′-bidentate phenanthroline ligand, three water moleules and an O-monodenate 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalate dianion. In the resulting distorted octahedral ZnN2O4 coordination polyhedron, the water O atoms are in a mer orientation. Two intramolecular O—HO hydrogen bonds occur in the bridging 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalate dianion within the complex cation and also in the free dianion. An intramolecular Ow—HO (w = water) hydrogen bond also occurs within the dication. In the crystal, O—HO hydrogen bonds link the component ions into a three-dimensional network.
