High-resolution high-efficiency X-ray imaging system based on the in-line Bragg magnifier and the Medipix detector

A full-field X-ray imaging system based on the in-line germanium Bragg magnifier and Medipix detector is presented. A theoretical and experimental study of the imaging performance of the crystals–detector combination and a comparison with a standard indirect detector typically used in high-resolution X-ray imaging schemes are reported.

Possibility of X-ray pulse compression using an asymmetric or inclined double-crystal monochromator

It is shown theoretically that the asymmetric or inclined double-crystal X-ray monochromator may be used for X-ray free-electron laser pulse compression if the pulse is properly chirped.
