The crystal structure of the title salt, (C25H22P)[Sn(C6H5)3Cl2] or (PhCH2PPh3)[SnPh3Cl2], consists of [PhCH2PPh3]+ cations and [SnPh3Cl2]− anions in which the SnIV atom is linked to two Cl atoms and three phenyl groups in a trigonal–bipyramidal geometry, with the Cl atoms in trans positions. The cation adopts a tetrahedral geometry. In the crystal, the cations and the anions are connected by C—HCl hydrogen bonds, leading to an infinite chain propagating along the c direction.

The SnIV atom in the title compound, [(CH3)4N][Sn(C2O4)Cl3(H2O)]·H2O, obtained from the reaction between SnCl4 and [(CH3)4N]2C2O4·2H2O, is six-coordinated by three Cl atoms, an O atom of a water molecule and two O atoms from an asymmetrically chelating oxalate anion. The environment around the SnIV atom is distorted octahedral. The anions are connected by the lattice water molecule through O—HO hydrogen bonds, leading to a layered structure parallel to (010). The cations are located between these layers and besides Coulombic forces are connected to the anionic layers through weak C—HO and C—HCl interactions.

Crystals of the title salt, C21H20OP+·NO3−, are composed of acetonyltriphenylphosphonium cations and nitrate anions that mainly interact through electrostatic forces. The P atom in the cation has a slightly distorted tetrahedral environment, with C—P—C angles ranging from 104.79 (7) to 112.59 (6)°. The sum of O—N—O angles of the nitrate anion is 359.99°, reflecting its trigonal–planar character. C—HO hydrogen bonds help to consolidate the crystal packing.

The title compound, [Sn(C6H5)2Cl2(CH4N2S)2], has been obtained from the reaction between Sn(C6H5)2Cl2 and SC(NH2)2. The asymmetric unit consists of one half of the molecular unit, the remainder generated by a twofold rotation axis located along the Cl—Sn—Cl bonds. The SnIV atom is coordinated by two phenyl groups, two Cl atoms and two thiourea ligands in an all trans octahedral C2Cl2S2 environment. Individual molecules are connected through N—HCl hydrogen bonds, leading to a three-dimensional network structure. Intramolecular N—HCl hydrogen bonds are also present.

In the title compound, [N(C4H9)4][Sn(C4H9)Cl4], the SnIV atom of the stannate anion has a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination sphere by two Cl atoms and one butyl chain in the equatorial plane and by two Cl atoms in the apical positions. Two of the four butyl chains of the tetrabutylammonium cation are partially disordered, each with refined site occupancies of 0.691 (6):0.309 (6). Weak C—HCl hydrogen-bonding interactions help to consolidate the crystal packing, as well as a short ClCl interaction of 3.295 (2) Å.
