catena-Poly[[zinc(II)-μ-[2-(2-carboxyl­atophenyl­imino­meth­yl)phenolato-1κ³O,N,O′:1′κO′′]] methanol solvate]

The title compound, {[Zn(C₁₄H₉NO₃)]·CH₃OH}_n, is a polynuclear zinc(II) complex. Each Zn^II atom is coordinated by one N and two O atoms of a Schiff base ligand, and another O atom of another Schiff base ligand, forming a severely distorted square-planar geometry.

The X-ray analysis of the title compound, C₁₉H₁₉IO₅, shows that the orientation of the two benzene rings is cis and confirms the E configuration of the mol­ecule. The occurrence of O—H...O hydrogen-bonding inter­actions results in the formation of centrosymmetric dimers.
