Poly­[bis(μ-3-pyridine­carboxyl­ato-κ³N,O:O′)­cadmium(II)]

The title compound, [Cd(C₆H₄NO₂)₂]_n, is a two-dimensional coordination polymer, which consists of Cd^II atoms and bridging nicotinate anions. The Cd atom is coordinated in a highly distorted CdO₄N₂ octahedron by two chelating carboxyl­ate groups and two cis pyridyl groups.

2-(3-Chloro­phenyl)­chroman-4-one

The title compound, C₁₅H₁₁ClO₂, was synthesized from 3-(3-chloro­phenyl)-1-(2-hydroxy­phenyl)­prop-2-en-1-one. The pyrone ring adopts a half-chair conformation.

Tetra­aqua­bis(pyridine-3-carboxyl­ato-κN)iron(II)

Pyridine-3-carboxylic acid (nicH) reacts with iron(II) chloride tetra­hydrate in a methanol–water mixture to form the title compound, [Fe(C₆H₄NO₂)₂(H₂O)₄]. The Fe^II atom is in a slightly distorted octa­hedral coordination. The crystal structure is stabilized by O—H...O hydrogen bonds involving all the water H atoms and the carboxyl­ate groups.
