The title compound, C₁₃H₁₀BrNO, is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.026 Å) and the dihedral angle between the planes of the two aryl rings is 1.5 (3)°. An intra­molecular O—H...N hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring.
