(η⁵-tert-Butyl­cyclo­penta­dien­yl)chloro­[N,N-(2,6-diisopropyl­phen­yl)pentane-2,4-diiminato]ytterbium(III)

The title complex, [Yb(C₉H₁₂)(C₂₆H₄₂N₂)Cl] or {(2,6-Prⁱ₂C₆H₃)NC(CH₃)}₂CH](^tBuC₅H₄)YbCl, exists as a monomeric mol­ecule; the six-membered chelate ring adopts a boat conformation. The Yb atom is six-coordinate and the shape of the mol­ecule approximates to a three-legged piano stool.
