In the title compound, C₁₉H₁₈F₃NO₄, which was designed and synthesized as a dual-site inhibitor of insect AChE (acetyl­cholinesterase), the dihedral angle between the methyl­carbamate group and the benzene ring is 72.47 (6)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers are linked by pairs of N—H...O hydrogen bonds.

In the title compound, C₈H₉ClN₂O, the dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the methyl­amide substituent is 68.39 (11)°. In the crystal, mol­ecules are linked by N—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the ab plane.
