X-ray harmonics rejection on third-generation synchrotron sources using compound refractive lenses

A new method of harmonics suppression based on X-ray refractive optics has been proposed and attenuation of higher-orders harmonics to five orders of magnitude using the monochromator detuning was achieved.

Propagation of an X-ray beam modified by a photonic crystal

The intensity distributions of an X-ray beam modified by a photonic crystal are calculated. A method of computing is developed, and the evolution of an image with increasing distance from the crystal is investigated. The image changes significantly over a distance of several micrometres.
