metal-organic compounds
The title molecule, [Co(C9H5O6)2(C12H8N2)] or [Co(H2BTC)2(phen)] (BTC = benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate and phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), has crystallographic twofold symmetry. The CoII atom has a coordination geometry that is intermediate between octahedral and trigonal prismatic. In the crystal structure, molecules are connected via O—HO hydrogen bonds [OO = 2.621 (4)–2.684 (4) Å] to form a three-dimensional network.
metal-organic compounds
The title compound, [Cd(C10H8N2)(C3H4N2)2]n, is a new neutral centrosymmetric three-dimensional metal–organic framework structure. The metal atoms occupy inversion centres and the bipyridine ligands also possess Ci symmetry. The metal atoms are bridged by four imidazole ligands and two bipyridine units.
