metal-organic compounds
The title compound, [Cd(C5H5NS)2Cl2], was prepared by the self-assembly reaction of isophthalic acid, CdCl2·5H2O and pyridine-2-thiol in methanol/H2O. The CdII atom lies on a twofold axis and is tetrahedrally coordinated by two S atoms from two pyridinium-2-thiolate ligands and two Cl atoms. Molecules are linked by N—HCl hydrogen bonds to form sheets parallel to the bc plane.

The title compound, C19H25NO, a Schiff base, crystallized in the phenol–imine tautomeric form. The C=N bond length is 1.270 (3) Å and the bond length between the C atom of the aromatic ring and the C atom of the imine group is 1.460 (4) Å, which corresponds to a conjugated C=N group. In the crystal structure, a one-dimensional chain is formed via a strong intermolecular O—HN hydrogen bond.
