The structure of the title compound, C₉H₁₀O₄, is presented and compared with 4-hydroxy-3,5-di­methoxy­benz­aldehyde. Both form infinite hydrogen-bonded chains.

2,5-Bis(2,2-diphenyl­ethen­yl)thio­phene

The ethene units of the title compound, C₃₂H₂₄S, a possible candidate for Organic Light-Emitting Devices, are tilted with respect to the thio­phene unit by 6.2 (1) and 9.2 (1)°.
