metal-organic compounds
In the title compound, [Sr(C4H4O5)(H2O)5]·H2O, the SrII atom is coordinated by a tridentate oxydiacetate dianion (ODA) and five water molecules, with a distorted square antiprism coordination geometry. The ODA chelates meridionally to the SrII atom with a planar structure. The Sr—O bond distances range from 2.505 (2) to 2.688 (2) Å.

The title compound, (C7H7N2)[Cd(C4H4O5)Cl(C7H6N2)2], is composed of CdII-containing complex anions and benzimidazolium (HBZIM) cations. The CdII atom is coordinated by a tridentate oxydiacetate (ODA) dianion, a chloride anion and two benzimidazole (BZIM) molecules, forming a distorted octahedral CdN2O3Cl coordination geometry. The ODA dianion chelates facially to the CdII atom. The face-to-face distances of 3.444 (12) and 3.386 (5) Å between partially overlapped BZIM rings and between HBZIM rings, respectively, indicate the existence of π–π stacking in the crystal structure.
