catena-Poly[[bis(O,O′-dimethyl dithio­phosphato-κ²S,S′)cadmium(II)]-μ-4,4'-bipyridine-N:N′]

The title compound, [Cd(C₂H₆O₂PS₂)₂(C₁₀H₈N₂)]_n, contains zigzag chains linked through the 4,4′-bipyridine groups. The Cd atom exhibits a slightly distorted octahedral coordination environment, consisting of four S atoms of the chelating dimethyl dithio­phosphate ligands and two N atoms of the centrosymmetric bridging 4,4′-bipyridine ligand.

9-(2,6-Dihydroxy­phen­yl)-3,3,6,6-tetra­meth­yl-N-(4-methyl­phen­yl)-1,8-dioxo-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10-deca­hydro­acridine

The title compound, C₃₀H₃₃NO₄, was synthesized by the reaction of 2,6-dihydroxy­benzaldehyde with p-toluidine and 5,5-dimethyl­cyclo­hexa­ne-1,3-dione in glycol under microwave irradition. X-ray analysis reveals that the dihydro­pyridine ring is in a distorted boat conformation and that the cyclo­hexenone rings adopt enevelope conformations. In the crystal structure, mol­ecules are linked by O—H...O hydrogen bonds around a centre of symmetry to form a dimer.
