The title compound, C54H48N2O2, lies about an inversion centre. The carbazole ring system makes dihedral angles of 58.43 (7) and 88.96 (7)°, respectively, with the adjacent and central benzene rings. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 52.01 (8)°. In the crystal, molecules are linked by pairs of C—HO interactions, forming a tape along the a axis. The methyl group is disordered over two sets of sites with occupancies of 0.63 (3) and 0.37 (3).
