The title compound, C20H16N2O2, was synthesized from the reaction of 2,5-dibenzoylterephthalamide and sodium hypochlorite solution. The asymmetric unit contains one half-molecule, the molecule being centrosymmetric. Intra- and intermolecular N—H...O hydrogen bonds are highly effective in forming a two-dimensional layer structure.

The title compound, C22H14O6·2C2H6O, was synthesized by the reaction of benzene and pyromellitic acid dianhydride. The acid molecule is centrosymmetric. There are intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds and C—H...π interactions in the crystal structure.

The centrosymmetric title compound, [Na(H2O)3]2(C22H12O6)·4H2O, was prepared by slow evaporation of an aqueous solution of sodium dibenzoylterephthalate. The uncoordinated water molecules are connected by intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds.
